 Brokeback Babylon was officially born in 2006 but the project had been brewing under the name « Babylon » since the death of my partner in 2003, a victim among so many others of the hatred linked to homophobia.

 Its final  name was inspired by Ang Lee’s movie « Brokeback Mountain ». Brokeback Mountain is the story of ranch hand Ennis del Mar (Heath Ledger) and rodeo cowboy Jack Twist (Jake Gyllenhaal), two young men who meet and fall in love on the fictional Brokeback Mountain in Wyoming in 1963.

Soon the Brokeback’s forum became the largest French-speaking European gay website with over 376000 messages and testimonies.

Brokeback Babylon  is first and foremost an Educational project whose main goal is to fight against the plague of homophobia through cultural actions and encounters.
